Microsoft stops selling consumer versions of Windows 7 to computer makers





Microsoft today stopped providing Windows 7 Home Basic, Windows 7 Home Premium, and Windows 7 Ultimate licenses to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), including its PC partners and systems builders. This means you’ll only be able to buy a computer running Windows 7 as long as stock lasts.

How can I access restricted UK sites when I’m overseas?





I live in France for six months of the year. I want to use various UK sites, but some don’t allow that because my ISP gives my PC a French IP address and the UK site then blocks my requests. Recently a friend recommended a VPN, which I’ve tried and found it works well.

Cops Gave Parents Child Safety Software That Can Be Used For Spying





Law enforcement agencies across the country have given away computer software to families that puts them at risk of spying, according to a new report. The software, known as ComputerCop, is marketed by police departments as a way for parents to protect their children from online predators.
